• Question 1: Who are you guys? 
• Answer 1:  We are (were) a wedding couple, just like many of our students.  We started dancing for OUR wedding and have trained, danced, and taught, ever since!  
• Question 2:  What makes you different from all the other dance instructors?
• Answer 2a: We are the only instructors in the Baltimore area that started learning for our wedding.  So, we can actually relate to our students because Because we started out as a wedding couple, and have attended hundreds of weddings, and taught thousands of happy couples we know exactly how important a first dance is (the second strongest memory of your wedding day) and we know what goes into making it special for you and your guests, regardless of how simple or dramatic you want it to be. 
• Question 3:   It says on the home page, that you changed everything about learning to dance, just for us.  What does that mean?
• Answer: We Spent 11 years figuring out what we didn't like about taking dance lessons, and fixed it ALL!  
  • We made it more Affordable:  For example: Our Prepaid 4 Private Lesson Package: $320. Our famous competition:  between $1400 and $1700.  And we have 10 lesson and 20 lesson prepaid packages that bring our prices as low as $60 per hour.  
  • We made scheduling more convenient.  Us: Sunday, 9am to 9pm, Monday to Thursday, 9am to 10pm, Friday.  

• The studios, when we were training, offered limited weeknight hours for private and group lessons for busy working people.  Monday through Thursday, 6pm to 10pm. There were also no weekend hours available when we took lessons.
• Beginning Ballroom is open Monday to Thursday, 9am to 10pm, Friday, 9am to 5pm, and Sunday, 9am to 9pm.  
• We offer a Sunday group 
• We offer about 70 lesson hours per week.  Nearly 40 hours of tha are available on weeknights and weekends. 
• Better Teaching Methods:   
  • How we learned: "They" taught us totally different dances with totally different moves and styling and we had to learn and remember and differentiate all of it.  It took us between 150 and 200 hours over our first year of dancing, to learn 5 dances: Tango, Foxtrot, Rumba, Swing and Waltz.   Then we kept going for 10 more years.  
  • How WE Do It Better:  We learned a couple of years into our training, that a lot of dance moves duplicate across multiple dances. So, we thought, "what if we taught the similar stuff first? "  This makes learning and remembering faster and easier.  We can teach you in about 10-20 hours what took us 50-100 hours to learn. 
• More Experienced Instructors: 
  • We came from music and martial arts backgrounds, where you study for years before earning the right to teach.  So...
  • ...we assumed that this was how people became Ballroom Dance Teachers, right? NOPE.  We were wrong.  It's mostly people who answered an ad and got hired and crash coursed in both dancing and teaching.  
  • This is bad because: 
  • 1) Most new dance students assume their instructor has years of experience that they are paying for, and they often don't.  
  • 2) Someone talented enough to survive a dancer/teacher training program hasn't made any of the mistakes you will make and doesn't know, intuitively, how to help.
  • So, after studying Ballroom dance for 11 years and, literally thousands of hours, and making and overcoming every mistake there is, We created Beginning Ballroom to be the company we WISHED we had "growing up"!
