Frequently Asked Questions

How could 20+ years of Q&A in just a few pages be β€œTLDR”?!

Q 1: Why should we take Dance lessons?

A 1. "Memory Milestones"

  • The 1st Dance and parental dances (Father/Daughter + Mother/Son) create the 2nd and 3rd strongest memory of your wedding day (Saying β€œI Do”) is the first)  We call them ”Memory Milestones”.
  • ALL dance moments can create strong memories, not just weddings.
  • For your first dance, and every dance, it’s lovely to be able to remember how you felt in that moment together, and dance lessons make all the difference.

A 2. be in the moment!

  • One of our grooms said, β€œDance lessons let us be in the moment rather than just trying to get through the moment.β€œ
  • This couldn’t be more true about ALL dance moments, not just weddings.

A4. Just SAY NO to Hugging and Rocking!

  • No one ever says, "We wish we had skipped the dance lessons”.  We like hugging and rocking better.  However…
  • Married couples who skipped the wedding dance lessons,  have said, β€œwe wish we took dance lessons for our wedding.”
  • One couple, married 15 years, even said, β€œthere’s a hole in my heart where my first dance should be.”
  • Friends don’t let friends hug and rock.
  • Hugging and rocking is the 8th deadly sin.
  • It’s in the Bible. Look it up.

A 4. enjoy Real Quality Time together!

  • Learning to dance is great relationship building time.
  • Many couples start  for their wedding but it becomes their weekly dance date.
  • We even have people who have been with us for 5-6 years!

If that wasn't enough...

A 5. You are dressing up everything else for your big day. Shouldn't your dancing match?

A 6.  Social Media means, EVERYTHING you do shows up on the web FOREVER!

A 7. When your wedding day is over, you will have each other, your rings, AND your dancing.  Everything else is temporary!

Q 2: How many lessons will we need?

A. That depends upon your goals, and event deadline

  •  8-12 weeks?  10 hours of lessons.
  • 6-8 weeks?   6 hours of lessons.
  • 4-6 weeks?  4-6 hours of lessons.
  • A year or more?  Start now, and make dancing a shared hobby. Ask about our group and private lesson options.

Q 3: When SHOULD we begin our lessons?

A: THE SHORT ANSWER IS ALWAYS, β€œNOW!”.

  • Getting ready for an event? (See Q 2)
  • Looking to learning just for fun?  There’s no time like the present.

Q 4: "We only want 'the basics' Can't we take just 1 or 2 hours?"

1. You can take as few or as many  lessons as you wish. But, how much you learn in each lesson will always be the same.

2. Your first  lesson will introduce you to the basic step plus leading and following.

3. We only add 1-2 moves per lesson hour, and fine tune technique, styling, and lead/follow as we go, to make sure you look natural dancing.

4. There is no such thing as, β€œCan’t we have the 10 hour package in 1-2 hours?”

Q 5: What type of dance should we do?

A: that depends upon a few things...

  • If you are a wedding couple, are you picking your song first, or your dance first?
  • Looking to learning just for fun?  What kind of music do you listen to most?
  • These are great places to start, and you don’t have to stop at learning one dance.

Q 6: We are a wedding couple and haven't picked our song, can you help?

A: We sure can!

  • Picking the right song can be a challenge.
  • You want something that speaks to you and represents you as a couple.  And…
  • You also need a song that has the right timing and tempo for dancing.
  • We can help you find just the right song.
  • Our consulting services are free with your lessons.

Q 7: Do you Charge More For Wedding Lessons? A: Nope!
